Your First Visit to Beim Orthodontics
In our office, we understand that everyone’s needs and expectations about orthodontics are different. That’s why we take great care to give you the individualized treatment you deserve.
Your first visit to our office will be a chance for us to get acquainted and to answer your orthodontic questions. One of our team members will give you a tour of our office, introduce you to the other team members who will help you progress through treatment, and highlight the benefits of our practice. Dr. Beim will conduct a thorough oral examination in which he will determine the specific course of treatment needed, and will answer any remaining questions that you may have. A treatment plan will be formulated and reviewed, and treatment time and costs will be discussed.
The first orthodontic exam does not always result in a recommendation for immediate treatment. After evaluating your child, Dr. Beim may simply want to check him or her periodically while the permanent teeth erupt and the jaws and face continue to grow. During this period, we will place your child in a growth and guidance program where they will be closely monitored. These growth and guidance visits are very important because Dr. Beim can evaluate factors such as growth of the jaws, loss of baby teeth, eruption of the adult teeth, and the effect of habits such as thumb-sucking, a tongue thrust, and mouthbreathing. These early visits allow Dr. Beim to determine how best to treat a child’s orthodontic problems and the appropriate time for orthodontic treatment to begin. As a result, many potential problems can be kept to a minimum and the duration of orthodontic treatment can be greatly reduced.
We know that orthodontic treatment is an investment that will last a lifetime, and that choosing the right orthodontist is an important part of that decision. Keeping this in mind, we are confident that the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere of our office combined with our experienced and friendly doctor and team will make for a positive and memorable experience for everyone involved.
